AI Interview Summaries Turn a Recap Into a Record

A hiring recap used to feel like a memory aid. A September 18 HR Dive report describes a different lifecycle: AI-generated hiring summaries can permanently record a job seeker's mistake, and an interviewer's insensitive or even illegal question, according to one CEO quoted. The recap can outlast the room.

If your team uses AI interview notes this week, treat every captured question and candidate error as a durable record, not a disposable recap. For AI-mediated interviews, candidates should assume the summary can outlast the conversation.

A separate crawl from today#

Do not fold that report into today's PinchForth Job Index. They are different windows and different methods.

Today's Job Index snapshot covers 172 tracked postings and 30 new roles. In that crawl, machine learning appears in 16 postings, tied with LLM. Those are mention counts in a dated crawl, not placements, and they do not measure AI interview tooling.

The HR Dive piece is one report with one CEO's framing. It does not prove employer motives, pay, selection methods, or a market-wide trend. The index does not confirm the report.

What to do with that#

If you run interviews, write a retention rule before the next loop. Decide who can read the summary, how long it lives, and who reviews it before it is shared.

If you are a candidate in an AI-mediated interview, be precise. If a question is unclear, ask for the version you need.
