What React as lead actually means#

When React owns the public lead, buyers are rarely shopping for "someone who listed React once on LinkedIn." They want interface delivery you can show: components, state decisions, a before/after of a slow page that got faster, or a small app shell that still works under real data.

Titles will say frontend engineer, full stack, product engineer, or something messier. The unit of value is still a shipped surface. If your last role said "marketer" or "ops" but you own a React screen with measured load time and a clean PR history, you are already in this market. If your title said "engineer" and you cannot walk a component tree or a decision trail, the market will treat you as unproven.

Operating move this week#

Hiring: keep language volume (Python/JS) and framework proof (React) in separate lanes. One title filter collapses both and raises false negatives.

Job search / fractional: ship one narrow React artifact - a three-component pattern, a form flow with error states, or a performance fix with numbers - and attach it where people already buy that skill. One artifact is a fluke. A short chain is a signal.

Network: practice the walkthrough out loud before the high-stakes room. Proof without a clear ask still dies in the inbox.
